Crossplay Word Checker

Is it a word? Check one word or several, with Crossplay points.

Separate several words with spaces or commas.

Which dictionary does Crossplay use?

According to TheWordFinder's comparison of the two games, Crossplay uses the NASPA Word List 2023 (NWL2023), the list used in North American Scrabble clubs, with proper nouns and trademarks filtered out. Crossplay checks every word before it accepts a move, so there are no challenges and no penalty for trying a word that is not allowed (TheWordFinder: Crossplay vs Scrabble (September 24, 2026)).

This checker answers from the open word list this site uses. It agrees with Crossplay on the vast majority of words, but not all of them. If the game rejects a word that this page accepts, the game is right.

Words players often look up

Two-letter words decide many games. QI, ZA, JO, XI and XU let you place your highest-value tiles in tight spots, and newer additions such as OK and EW are allowed in North American play. The full list is on the Crossplay two-letter words page. To see every word your tiles can make, try the Crossplay word finder.

About the word list. Crossplay checks words against the NASPA Word List 2023, a licensed list we cannot publish. This site uses the public-domain ENABLE word list plus the 107 two-letter words allowed in North American play. The two lists overlap heavily, but a few newer words may be missing here, and Crossplay may reject a few words this site accepts. The game itself always has the final say.
